7 Tips for Creating a Social Media Campaign.

Social media has quickly become one of the most popular and effective forms of brand generation and customer interaction. However, starting a social media campaign can seem a bit daunting if you don’t know where to start. So, we’ve put together a list of social media tips for you to build your next campaign around.

Know Your Goal

That is where everything should start… What’s the WHY? According to Simon Sinek, your “why” is where all your business decisions should come from. What are you trying to achieve? Knowing that will help you write the proper content, design, and plan creative accordingly and know how to respond to your engaged users. This will also help understand what metric to keep an eye on and how to quantify the success of your campaign.

Know Your Audience

Whether you are creating an organic campaign or planning on running ads, you need to know who your audience is and who your message will resonate the most with. For organic content, it will help you decide the tone of your content and what type of creative to have. For paid content, you have the option to target specific people and more efficiently use your $$$

Know What Your Competition is (and isn’t) Doing

If you have competition finding success on social media, take some inspiration from them. What are they doing that’s working? Why is it working? You don’t want to mimic their practices, but use it to get some inspiration! You also want to keep in mind what they are not doing. That may lead to some potential opportunities for your brand to grab onto.

Be Consistent

In order to stay digitally relevant, you need to be current and consistent. People on social media want to know what you are up to! Social media gives you the opportunity to get more eyes on your brand than just a storefront or website alone. Take advantage of it!

Your customers (or potential customers) are interacting with you! Say hi back! Respond to them! Not only does it add more ‘touches’ for your brand to its customers, but it helps great brand loyalty.

Track + Analyze

Remember the goal we talked about earlier? Use that to help decide what metrics to be focused on. Without guardrails, all the analytics you can get from social media can be overwhelming. P.S. if you are driving people to your website via a link, make sure you set up your Google Analytics tracking so you can see how effective your links from social are!

Rinse and Repeat

Take what you learned from your data and course correct. Try different styles or media. Try a different tone of voice. There are tons of things you can do to get different results! Try new things and don’t be afraid to take risks.

There are several moving part to every social media campaign, however, these 7 tips should give you a great baseline to build off of. If you have any questions or want to collaborate on your next social campaign, reach out! We’d love to connect.
